A STUDY ON NEGLECTION OF MOTHERTONGUE IN EDUCATION SECTOR
REHANA K A ABSTRACT This study investigates the neglect of mother toungue language in education sector .protecting malayalam language is equal to protecting ones own body and identify. Malayalam is one of the 22 scheduled language of India.Malayalam was designated as a classical language of India on 2013.Malayalam has official language status in Kerala and Puducherry and is also the primary spoken language of lakshadweep and is spoken by 34 million people in India.This language has to be more than 1500 years old.so it is given the classical status.Tamil,Kannada,Telugu and Malayalam have satisfied these condition.we all have the right to speak in our mother tongue.But most of the schools in Kerala restrict students and even teachers from speaking and using malayalam.This study reveals whether there is any neglectance for the same through survey method.
